September News from Lucy Monroe

I want to start by saying thank you so much for all your support and encouragement earlier this year as I dealt with my mom’s final decline in health and subsequent death. It was a really hard time for me, but your thoughts and prayers, cards and emails of encouragement meant the world and touched me deeply. Again, thank you!

Summer had a hard time finding its way to the Pacific Northwest, but that didn’t matter, we enjoyed ours anyway! We took a short family vacation to Seattle, Washington where we visited all the sites, took both a harbor cruise and the Tillicum Village Potlatch Cruise (absolutely fantastic!). My sister’s family and a dear friend joined us along with our children and granddaughters. Fun was had by all!

We followed it up with some special birthday celebrations for friends and family. :) While I enjoy my August birthday, celebrating it is even more special now that I get to share my birthday week with my two granddaughters, Miss Sparklepants and Little Fashionista. Our birthday’s are just days apart! How lucky am I?

August also brought the relaunch of my blog where I gave away a book a day for the whole month! Thank you to all the readers who participated in the contest. If you missed the August give aways, don’t worry, check out my blog in September where I will be giving away weekly prizes — bookbags filled with books!

Even with the super business of the summer, I was able to find time to write...finally, after months of not being able to do so. It was incredible to once again lose myself in my stories and characters. Once the sun finally found its way to us, I spent many afternoons on the back deck typing away on my Neo. I am so excited to announce that I have finished my latest Children of the Moon book, while concurrently working on my next Brava. DRAGON’S MOON (this is my working title — let’s see if the publisher keeps it) will be released in the first half of 2012.

I hope your summer was just as exciting! I’m looking forward to a great fall! This fall will start off with Portland’s 20th Annual Koman Race for the Cure. This is a cause that is very near to me. Be among the first 100 people to join my team, Passion for the Cure, or donate and receive a free autographed book. Visit my facebook page for further details!

Hugs and blessings,

Lucy
