    THE CHARACTERS:  When I was invited to write a book for the 2004 M& B Mother's Day Anthology, I was thrilled when my editor told me, "We want classic Presents, maybe an international hero, but you can write what you want."  I knew just who I was going to write about.  Luciano and Hope had been filling my thoughts for months, but I didn't know when I was going to get to write their story.  Luciano is a Sicilian tycoon with more than his share of pride and family commitment.  Hope has been raised in Boston by her workaholic grandfather.  While Luciano is more than happy to remain focused on their sizzling physical attraction, Hope's emotions become involved very quickly.  

    I hope you enjoy these two really special people as much as I did.

    THE SETTING:  Exotic settings are one of the reasons I love writing for Presents.  I had a lot of fun traveling from Boston to Athens to Palermo, Sicily with this book.
    THE STORY: This is a classic Presents story told with a modern heroine and sexy alpha hero that the reader can fall in love with.  Luciano is blackmailed into marriage by Hope's matchmaking grandfather.  Their journey to mutual love and commitment is really emotional, with more than one hurdle along the way.

    A great story, with Ms Monroe’s trademark sensuality. Shy Hope is used to being called “hopeless” by her grandfather’s business associates, and is flustered when sexy Luciano di Valerio begins to pay her some attention and then proposes marriage. When she discovers that he was blackmailed into marrying her, she is destroyed.  The way that Ms Monroe brings Hope and Luciano together again, by the end of the story is magical – it brought tears to my eyes reading about their painful progress.
